Fake Snow?!

Today in science we worked on making observations and forming a hypothesis. We observed a mysterious white powder and described it using our senses. Then we predicted what would happen when we poured 1/2 a cup of water in it. What happened was NOT what we expected!

It absorbed the water, expanded, and created fake snow!!

What a great day in science!

Inside Recess

Last week with the bitter, awful cold, we spent recess inside. We spent our time dancing to some of our favorite songs to burn some energy! It was a blast!

Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday!

We couldn't use the computer lab this week due to NWEA testing, and we were totally bummed because we didn't get to practice our spelling words on Spelling City! SO what did we do? We did it on our AWESOME iPads instead!!!

Have a super weekend and remember there is no school Monday or Tuesday. See you Wednesday!!

Poetry has RyThYm.....

Today we started a new unit in Writing Workshop- Poetry! Our first lesson was about how sometimes poets give their poems rhythm. We snapped, clapped, and tapped our knees to the beat of a variety of poems. It was a blast! Check out our video! :)

I will be home tomorrow due to my sore throat and cough! I sure had a hard time reading these poems in my scratchy, crackly voice today, didn't I? I'm sad I won't see you on a Prowler Friday.... see you on Monday!

Stay warm this weekend,
~ Mrs. Johnson :)

P.S. I'm so PROUD of your hard work on your math NWEA test today! You are super smarties!! :)

Poetry Workshop

Last week in Poetry Workshop we found poems that evoked a certain emotion from us when we read them. We copied them into our Poetry Anthologies, wrote about how they made us feel, and decorated the page.
