Five for Friday- End of June!

My Five for Friday with Doodle Bugs! It will be the last one until August! I completely agree that Friday's feel much different in the summer! During the school year it's a day of relief! During the summer it's a reminder that another week of break is over! 

1. 10,000 Views! At the beginning of the week I was pumped to see that my blog hit 10,000 page views! Thank you to all teachers, parents, and blogging friends who check it out! :)

2. Last weekend I got to spend some time with aunts, cousins, and cousin's kiddos! It's always crazy, chaotic, and fun getting relatives together!

3. Brody spent the night with me last Friday night. Yep, I'm such a good aunt. I let him play and climb on all the farm equipment he wanted! :)

4. Target shopping! Yesterday I picked up a couple new things for my classroom:

I picked up this cute pillow on clearance for $6. If you've been in my classroom, you know I love pillows and lamps! :)

I'm so, so excited about this ottoman! It's hot pink and I can store all kinds of important teacherly things inside it! I plan to put it by my computer table. Mrs. Delzer has one very similar! :) If you love Target too, make sure you check out #5!

Five for Friday!

Happy Friday and first day of SUMMER everyone! It is a gorgeous, hot day today! Here's what I've been up to this week with my Five for Friday with Doodle Bugs Teaching!

1. I got to start my day off right this morning with a little Starbucks after dropping off Layla at the vet! Happy Friday to me! Yum-O! Then I go to my sister's and she gives me a donut. Breakfast of champions over here! :)

2. Layla Lou!

It's been a rough week for Miss Layla. She had to get shots this week, blood drawn, and tore a ligament in her knee the night BEFORE her appointment. So then she also needed to get an exam from the vet. Throw that on top of bad hips already, and this 6 yr. old pup hobbles around like she's 90! SO, back to the vet today for x-rays on the knee AND hips. The good news is her hips looked good for as stiff and sore as she's been getting at night, but the bad news is surgery will most likely be in her very near future to fix her knee. Poor baby! :(

3. Amazon rocks my socks off!

I was so excited when the UPS truck showed up yesterday with my favorite kind of mail- boxes from Amazon! Unfortunately, Tony got home about 10 minutes prior which made for horrible timing. He gave me a very unimpressed look when the UPS man handed him my boxes! Oh well, it's not the first time. :) 

- I ordered Teach Like a Pirate cause I couldn't STAND to see anything else about it on blogs, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, or Twitter without seeing for myself! I hope it's as good as I hear! 

- Words Their Way- We are in search of something new and better for word study at my school. A few teachers and I are thinking of implementing Words their Way this year to try it out. I'd love to know if anybody out there uses it and what you think of it! 

- Preventing Misguided Reading happened to just JUMP in my Amazon cart when I ordered the other two. Gotta make the order worthwhile, right?! I have been looking at it in my "save for later" list for a long time. It looks like a good read and any new info. on guided reading is always helpful I think! :)

4. Nephews!

Now that it's summer I'm hoping to see these two cutie pies WAY more often! Already got to see them 3 times this week! :)

5. Classroom Deals!

Last weekend, the beautiful Mrs. Delzer and I did some shopping for our classrooms! We hit up TJ Maxx, Gordmans, Joanne's Fabrics, and Target. We are in DESPERATE need to find a Hobby Lobby next! Is it bad we are excited to get back and it's still only JUNE?!

Tried it Tuesday with Bloglovin (On Wednesday Morning)

I started last night, to make it for Tried it Tuesday, but quickly realized I was too tired. So, I'll be linking up with Fourth Grade Flipper for "Tried it Wednesday Morning." :)

Ok, so I keep hearing Google Reader is going away. I don't use google reader, but I DO follow tons of blogs that I would be so sad if I lost. I also heard that the Google Friend Connect will be gone, so we won't be able to see our followers! :( At the moment, I have 43. I loved being able to see all the parents and teachers who follow my little class blog. Especially, I've gained some new followers lately from some inspirational, role model, CELEBRITY teachers who have blogs I consistently stalk! I'm not exactly sure how this switch over on July 1st will affect me, but I am giving Bloglovin a try cause that's ALL I've been hearing about and seems to be the thing to do! I'm also excited about the fact they have an app for my iPhone and iPad, I'm hoping they are as nice and easy to read as everyone says!

Father's Day!

I hope all the dads out there had a great Father's Day! I got to see my dad yesterday and spend some time with him and my family. We had lunch with my parents, brother, and sister and her family. Then we headed over to the Johnson side for supper and more family time! It was a beautiful day! :)

Five for Friday!!

Happy Friday everyone! Here is my Five for Friday from Doodle Bugs!

So, today is Friday, just had my first official week of summer. Two days were spent at Literacy Team meetings discussing grade level data and plans for next year. Other than that, I dont' have much to show for it! The cleaning and organizing I was actually looking forward to....... hasn't happened yet. 

1. I've spent so much of my time this week addicted to things like:

Pinterest. I was really good for awhile about not spending tons of time on here. But...... the addiction is back.

Instagram! Yes..... I'm aware I only have 4 photos. I'm new to the Instagram bandwagon!  Follow me! :)

2. The Fed Ex man delivered a box to me today with this little beauty in it! I got it shopping in Albertville last weekend. So excited! I love getting things in the mail, especially when it's something as awesome as a new jacket! :)

3. I spent last night making these cute new icons for my phone! Cute, huh?! :)

4. I love these big cups with straws in them. I already have a few, but thought I needed MORE of course for summer. So I just picked up these yesterday. Drinking a Dr. Pepper out of one right now! :)

5. Summer is on the brain. I've been loving the weather these last few days. Our yard is so green, and soft, and freshly mowed! And I've been loving sitting out on the deck!
